Hi there,

Could you please tell me if it's possible to encode (mpeg2 ts, ps, dv
files) into IMX50 D10 files.

My goal is to use that generated files to wrap into mxf and play
throught broadcast server like "Omneon", "Leitch".

Thank you in advance,

lilouk

That site shows how to make IMX30/40/50 but I have not tried putting the
resulting media onto an Omnion, Leitch, Harris, Quantel, etc... TX
server because other projects have got in the way. I might have access
to a development system next week with Omnion and Quantel servers
(Quantel are very picky about their media) so I may be able to do some
tests then.

1) Please don't top post your replies on this email list.
2) How do you know the output of the above method is not IMX50? In what
way does it not conform to the specification?

Hi mark,

I have tested the files generated by the method
(http://www.itbroadcastanddigitalcinema.com/ffmpeg_howto.html#Encoding_D10),
after that I have used mxfwrap (mxflib)
the MXF Op1a files generated is not compatible with Omneon, Leitch
Nexio and Seachange.

To be compatible with Broadcast servers, all the MXF files must be: MXF
Op1a with D10 essence .

thank you

How do you know that it is FFmpeg making incompatible IMX50?

Surely with the test you have just described it could be mxfwrap that is
creating incompatible MXF files containing perfectly compatible IMX50.

I'm not trying to sound picky just trying to follow the logic of your tests.
