Hello.

I have posted in many forums but have never got a response.

Basic question but cannot find the answer with Google.

Is there a input protocol that is more stable for uptime with FFmpeg?

At the moment I have this set up

DVB cards / Astra Cesbo = output = udp://239.255.1.2:1234 / Xtreamcodes
software U/ add URL = udp://239.255.1.2:1234 and then FFmpeg does the
transcoding x264

Sometimes my streams restart during the day maybe 3 or 4 times

What`s the best input protocol to use with FFmpeg for stability and uptime.

Thank you.

Nobody can really answer that question. You haven’t provided any info on how
the system is designed, what the environment is, settings used, or even if the
failure is from ffmpeg itself or the input stream. Futhermore, simply changing
the protocol is unlikely to fix your problem.
