Hello,

is it currently possible to watermark a video with obscure watermaerking
algorithm in ffmpeg?
Or is it planed for future to implement such a filter?

A big player on obscure watermarking is "nexguard" (
https://dtv.nagra.com/watermarking)
Nexguard has an API for implementing their technology in external
transcoders.
Maybe this would be a possible solution for using obscure watermarking with
ffmpeg?

Best Regards

There was a way to watermark some time ago, but I haven’t visited this in many years. IIRC, it was taken out.

Sorry, no more info than that.

isn't nexguard an expensive solution? -- while "expensive" may be
relative  ... nexguard in not open isn't that true?

Assuming you are not requesting a simple overlay:
No.

I suspect most open-source activists would not consider
it fun to implement something like this in their free time.

No, this does not look like a license-compatible solution.
